one step closer to the big leagues

GAME RECAP 07/09/2018

In the only GWL game on Monday, the San Francisco Seals beat the Medford Rogues 7-6 a game in which several different lead changes took place.

Leading 6-5 in the ninth inning, an error by Rogues shortstop Riley Kasper led to two unearned runs that cost them the game.

Medford native and Great West League Player of the Week Cole Carder continues to crush baseballs. He went 3-4 with two runs scored, including a two-run home run in the sixth inning and is now hitting .412. Not to be out done, the Seals Matt Monaham was 3-5 with a double and three RBI’s to raise his average to .392

Tanner Gaff was the winning pitcher and Gabe Smith was the unlucky pitcher who ended up with the loss.

The Seals have now won four of their last five games to move within one game for the final playoff spot.
