GWL CO-PLAYERS OF THE WEEK: HENDRICKSON & CLARKE

JUNE 26, 2017 - PORTLAND, OR:  The Great West League's win, ERA and strikeout leader and the top home run hitter are the Co-Players of the Week as presented by the Madison Bat Company today.

Portland  Pickles southpaw Josh Hendrickson turned in a brilliant outing June 21 against the Yuba City Bears.  The 6-5, 195 pound hurler tossed 8-1/3 innings, shutting out the Bears on 3-hits, while fanning 14 and walking only one.  The Ranger College (Texas) standout has started 5-games and is 3-0 with a league-leading 2.03 ERA and a league best 40 strikeouts in 31 innings of work.  The Australian-native has allowed only 24 hits over his 31 innings and his 3 victories ties him for most in the GWL.

Zander Clarke just joined the Portland Pickles from the UCLA Bruins and has been red-hot.  He homered in his first game and in the week since has gone 13-24 (.542) with four more home runs and 9 RBIs.  In his second season with the Pickles, the 6-6, 220 pound first baseman/outfielder leads the GWL with his five home runs.
